Deep Fried Dictionary: Caprese

Caprese: Pronounced “cuh-PREE-say” (as far as I know); Mozzarella, basil, tomatoes; Italian

Fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and fresh tomatoes, and that is IT! Fresh mozzarella is the kind that comes in a ball in the little cheese station. Can have a little olive oil or balsamic vinegar dressing.

Referred to and served as a salad, but since it’s such a simple party of versatile and non-cooked ingredients, people jazz it up in all kinds of ways. Also a plus side of this salad is that the white, green and red make nice contrasts so it does the work for you as far as nice presentation.
